Muhurta
The word Muhurta resembles the time. It can be auspicious or inauspicious. Generally we perform the works where we need
positive results in the auspicious time. That auspicious time is determined by the positions of the planets and various
positions of the constellations and the different combinations of the panchanga elements. Generally it is found that the
works done in the auspicious time give fruitful results. It a convention in our culture as it is based on the tradition
and belief and it is difficult to give any scientific reason for it.
The Veda, the oldest literature of the world gives due preference to the auspicious time and it advocates to perform different
kinds of works in different times depending upon the required result. The Vedic literature is full with instances of these muhurtas
and the evolvement of the jyotish is the result of the advocating of the muhurta in Vedas. To find out the auspicious time to perform
the rituals the time reckoning system was developed by the seers.
In this section one can avail the muhurta for any purpose. Not a single aspect of the life is deserted by this section. It has a broader
aspect and place in this subject.
